India's national capital, Delhi, is already the second wealthiest city in India according to Business World, and with all this money pouring in, Delhi has also some of the poorest people in the country who live on a daily basis with hardly enough to survive. To support them with their challenges and to raise the poor, a variety of non-profits work day and night. Below are a few GiveIndia affiliate NGOs in Delhi who are contributing their bit to the cause.
1. The Charity Eye Hospital of Dr. Shroff (SCEH):
Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH) is a Delhi NGO created to promote eye care for the underprivileged. The clinic offers quality eye care right from Retinal to Cornea, eye disease to surgery, cataract to general care. SCEH also operates medical outreach programmes on a regular basis, offering free consultation and surgery to poor people suffering from cataracts.
2. Goonj's:
Goonj initiated the 'Not Just A Piece of Cloth' (NJPC) campaign to raise awareness about menstrual wellbeing and hygiene. They also spread over 4 million fabric pads across India and made thousands of people aware of the country's most backward communities. They also urge urban populations to contribute fabric from which to make sanitary napkins.
3. Om Foundation:
Om Foundation is one of the Top 10 Ngo in Delhi NCR and it is a registered, secular, gender-sensitive and humanitarian public charitable trust based in Noida. Established in 2002 to provide education to the children of the slums in Noida, OM now strives to make a meaningful contribution to the economically and socially deprived people of India. To this end, the Foundation has developed, directed and funded programmes aimed at bringing about positive change, primarily in the area of education and jobs for the underprivileged.
4. Mobile Creches for Working Mother's Baby:
Mobile Creches provides a day-care service for children of migrant workers at building sites around the Delhi NCR (Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida). The Center provides these children with adequate nutrition and guidance to ensure that they lead a healthier life. Many children arriving at Mobile Creches are undernourished or undernourished. This NGO in Delhi focuses on improving the health of these children through a nutritious meal schedule, consisting of three meals a day.
5. Kailash Satyarth Children's Foundation:

The group has been combating violence against women, running a survivor advocacy service and giving support to neglected elderly widows.
7. Federation of Hemophilia (India):
Started in 1983 by Ashok Verma, who was himself a Hemophilia recipient, the Hemophilia Foundation offers prompt, affordable and effective care to underprivileged Hemophilia patients. The NGO's goal is to help the needy patients, such as factory workers, day-to-day wage earners, rickshaw pullers, vegetable vendors and household assistance, get the costly medical treatment required for the disease.
8. India HelpAge:
HelpAge India supports poor elderly people and makes them live a happy and dignified life. Without a means of support, many of the elderly who are deserted by their children have no where to go. HelpAge gives these people a place to stay and to satisfy their various care needs. Since 1980, the NGO has managed to restore sight to more than 9 lakh elders. At almost 45,000 surgeries completed annually, the company is looking to raise this figure to 60,000.
9. Psychoeducational Culture:
The goal of the Psycho-Educational Society (PES) is to raise less fortunate children in rural areas by providing basic education and raising awareness among illiterate women about family welfare, health education and personal hygiene. The NGO founded the B.D.Paliwal School in 2000. It gives primary education to boys and girls belonging to less fortunate parts of society.
10. Tarkeybein's:
Tarkeybein seeks to transform the current public school system by engaging both parents and students in the creation of an educational narrative that includes the whole village, block and district. The NGO trains teachers' collectives and meets every month to prepare teaching materials. They also engage parents and villagers through Shiksha Sabhas to realise learning and growth opportunities through schooling.
